Flames of Edhelion is, first and foremost, a family. We are not a guild, a clan, or whatever terms other MMOs may use. We expect every member to treat the others like family--with fairness, equality, and respect.
We believe in teamwork. Teamwork is not just limited to being able to fulfill one's class role in a Skirmish or Raid. We want communication, camaraderie, and the willingness to honestly be there for each other.
The game is about the experience, not the XP.
To this extent, we do not want to be a gigantic kinship. We will be capping off membership at about thirty people or one hundred characters, whichever we reach first.

Gameplay-wise, our priorities are:
- Crafting
- Questing (by default, is related to the following)
- Leveling (through Quests, Deeds, and Skirmishes)
- Role-Playing, and virtually everything else.
- Note that Raids are not on this list. Don't care much for them. We'll do them, but most of us would rather do laundry.
In a nutshell: Who We Are
Want a mature Kinship where the members will treat me with respect?
Welcome. Be advised that we will tease each other, and sometimes it can be relatively offensive.
Want a Kinship that will help me with my crafting, or where I can craft things for others?
Welcome. Just be prepared to provide or assist with gathering materials.
Want a nice place to hang my hat after a hard day at work/school/real life?
Welcome.
I want to play with my family members, which also means real-life sometimes trashes our schedules.
Quite all right. We're not combat freaks, so "casual play" is more our style.
We don't have assigned play times, and you're not expected to place the game before your real life.

In a nutshell: Who We Aren't
Want a Kinship that does lots of Raids/PvP?
We probably aren't for you. We'll do them, it's just not our thing.
Want a Kinship that will help me power-level, or hold your hand through nearly every quest in a region?
We definitely aren't for you. We'll help you accomplish things in game, but we're your friends, not your babysitter.
Want a group so I can get the Great Barrows (or other Fellowship-required) quests and Skirmishes done?
You're actually looking for a Fellowship, not a Kinship. Try the /lff channel. If you're mentally challenged, try the /glff channel.
Want someone to craft ___ for you?
You probably want either /trade or /ooc channels to ask for this temporary assistance, which will likely come at a price.
We will gladly craft ___ for you. Either give us the materials and a little change, or negotiate with one of our Kinsmen.
If you talk like: "1 (4m3 70 |{1(|{ 4$$ 4nÐ (h3w 9µm, 4nÐ 1'm 4££ 0µ7 0ƒ 9µm."
Please, jµ$7 ƒµ(|{ 0ƒƒ and go play WoW with the other people that only read books that have pictures. Same goes for "text speech."
There is a difference between not speaking English well, and being intentionally stupid in order to seem cool.
How about "Vent" (Ventrilo) in the Kinship?:
We don't use it. The in-game Fellowship voice is quite sufficient. So, please, don't even get started in a debate about it.
We don't, and we won't.
If you can't live without it, then we probably aren't for you.
